STEPS TO ENROLL


Welcome to Los Angeles Valley College! Just follow these steps to enroll in classes.

STEP 1:
Apply for Admissions & Financial Aid

APPLICATION:

Submit online Application to Los Angeles Valley College.

APPLICATION TO RECEIVE MONETARY HELP TO PAY FOR COLLEGE:

Submit an online FAFSA Application to explore your benefits. (LAVC's school code for FAFSA is 001228)

STEP 2:
Complete Your Orientation & Initial Educational Plan

COMPLETE THE NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION

  • Sign in to your Student Portal
  • Select Student Status tile
  • Click on Student Success Page
  • Click on New Student Orientation (available in English, Spanish, Armenian and Russian)

 

COUNSELING / FIRST SEMESTER EDUCATIONAL PLANNING:

Complete your First Semester Educational Plan online.

For assistance, contact the LAVC Counseling Department.

STEP 3:
Choose Your Classes, Register & Pay Fees

PICK YOUR CLASSES:

Before your registration appointment, login to your student portal and search for classes.

REGISTER:

You can register for classes through the following two ways:

  • On (or after) your registration appointment, enroll ONLINE in classes through the LACCD Student Portal.

  • After the semester starts, you need to go to the first class meeting of the course, and asking the instructor for a permission number to add the class. If you recieve a permission number, enter it in the LACCD Student Portal by the Deadline to Add to officially enroll in the course.

PAY FEES:

Pay your fees and buy a parking permit ONLINE through the LACCD Student Portal, or pay in person at the LAVC Business Office (SU 143).

STEP 4:
Get Your ID, Buy/Rent Textbooks, Attend Classes & Use College Services

GET YOUR STUDENT ID:

Pay for your classes and show your Registration/Fee Receipt to obtain a Student ID in the LAVC Admissions & Records Office (Student Services Center, 1st Floor).

BUY/RENT TEXTBOOKS:

You can purchase or rent your textbooks for your classes at the LAVC Monarch Campus Store (SU 150). For information about refunds and book buyback dates, visit the LAVC Monarch Campus Store webpage.

ATTEND CLASSES:
